Recipe for: Chocolate Chip Cookies (optionally dairy-free) Ingredients: 45mL white sugar 45mL packed brown sugar 60mL margarine (optionally dairy-free) 1.25mL vanilla 1 egg 140mL flour 1.25mL baking soda 0.5mL salt 80mL chocolate chips (optionally dairy-free) Utensils: Large bowl Measuring cups/spoons Wooden spoon or rubber spatula Baking sheet Parchment paper Spoon (recommended) Steps: 1. Heat the oven to 375F (~190C) 2. In a large bowl, beat the white sugar, brown sugar, and margarine until it's smooth. Use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. 3. Add in the vanilla and egg, then mix until it's well blended. 4. Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt and stir until the dough is stiff. Then stir in the chocolate chips. 5. Place scoops (I recommend with a spoon) of the dough onto a baking sheet that's covered in parchment paper. 6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are light brown with soft centres. 7. Take the cookies (still on the baking sheet) out of the oven and let them cool for 1 or 2 minutes, then take the cookies off the baking sheet and let them cool on a wire rack.
