hii welcome to my microblog !!

hello again !! it's been almost a month since my last (and first lmao) microblog, but honestly that's kinda the vibe i'm aiming for. i don't want this to be the sort of thing that i feel obligated to do, or something i feel bad not doing often "enough." i just wanna use this for ranting or rambling or just talking abt whatever tf i want!!

i dont have a good transition, but now i'm gonna talk abt the main topic for this microblog post lmao. i've been listening to some new music recently, and i wanna share it!! some of it is new music by artists i already like, and some of it is music by artists i didn't even know abt 'till now.

achilles - kevin atwater (album)

dudeeeeee. this album is so fucking good. i started listening to kevin atwater last year and i'm literally in love with his music. probably in my top 5. he somehow has the ability to make me feel emotions i didn't even know existed. his genre is pretty indie folk, but you could probably also describe it as singer-songwriter. i'd say that most of his music revolves around being queer, his past relationships, and all the different forms that grief can take. his music is very vulnerable and feels rly honest. his voice is also so good. i was rly excited for achilles to come out and i was NOT disappointed. i'd say my fave song on the album is the cage, which he released before the album itself but is still on there.

food house (group)

i started listening to food house literally like this week lmao. also btw food house is a music group (duo?) made up of the artists gupi and fraxiom - and i still need to listen to their solo music, whoops! i haven't listened to hyperpop since like 2020 when 100gecs got rly popular. i listened to 100gecs for a bit and then stopped, but i've been meaning to start listening to them again! i found out abt food house when the music video for one of their older songs, thos moser, showed up on my recs on youtube at like 3am. i watched the whole thing while half asleep and i couldn't look away. their music is pretty different from what i usually listen to, but it's so good. i've really only listened to their new album two house (which you should totally check out if you like hyperpop,) but i'm planning to listen to their older songs soon. my fave song on two house is probably everybody's eyes.

limp bizkit (band)

ik that limp bizkit is one of those bands that ppl make fun of, but i'm 100% an unironic limp bizkit enjoyer. their music just goes so hard!! i'd heard a few of their songs before, like break stuff (obv) and behind blue eyes (which i was stunned to learn was limp bizkit lmao), but i started actively listening to their music like a month ago. the reason i properly checked out their stuff was 'cause i was watching a smosh compilation and there was a clip of the karaoke stream where spencer performed break stuff as fred darts, and i remembered how good that song actually is. so i listened to break stuff, and then decided to just listen to all their most popular songs on spotify. and dude, i was hooked. there's just something abt their music. i've only listened to like 8 of their songs, but i listen to those songs on repeat. my fave limp bizkit song is break stuff, no competition. also btw if you don't know them, limp bizkit is a nu-metal band.

lullabies for dogs - chase petra (album + band)

i actually already knew a song by chase petra, monet issues, but i hadn't listened to any of their other music until now. someone in a discord server i'm in shared the music video for have faith, horatio in our music rec channel, and decided to look it up on spotify since i didn't recognize the band. when i saw that i already knew one of their songs and that have faith, horatio was part of a new album (lullabies for dogs,) i decided to listen to the whole thing. it's rly good!! chase petra's music is very pop-punk with some folk mixed in there aswell. i still need to listen to the rest of their music, but for now, my fave song by them is because i am my own dog.

hey!!! i'm gonna try out having a microblog. i have a full blog over at bearblog, but i feel kinda intimidated to post anything casual over there. so, this microblog will be for literally anything on my mind at any given time!!

to start me off, im gonna talk abt something thats been rolling around in my brain for the past few days: warm bodies. i watched the movie for the first time on the 15th, and i fucking loved it. i feel like my letterboxd review very succinctly describes how i feel abt the movie: "the movie isnt good but its also amazing." warm bodies has so many flaws, but its also soooo fucking good. im such a sucker for the "fucked-up guy x girl whos a freak and into it" trope in media (#unironictwilightenjoyer) and i love that it's in warm bodies. r is literally me and i tried drawing him ^^!! me when im a loner who collects shit and loves music. also, the idea of zombies gaining memories of their victims when eating their brains is so cool.

i have more thoughts on this movie but my words are floating away from me and its 2am so i should go to bed lmao. anyways thanks for reading !!!
