Good morning, .
> What you're looking at is a shrine for the Mission: Impossible movie franchise. It was made by Spencer because he thinks the movies are really cool and wanted to share his love for them. Your mission, , should you choose to accept it, is to look through this whole shrine and agree that it's really cool. As always, should you or any member of your I.M. force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow all knowledge of your actions. This shrine will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, _

ALL MI MOVIES RANKED + STAR RATINGS + REVIEWS
My personal ranking of all 7 MI movies with star ratings and reviews. Reviews labeled with a has major spoilers
1. Mission: Impossible
Literally sooo good. It looks so cool and the mystery is actually really interesting. I love how it feels like you're watching a normal heist movie and then suddenly everything goes to shit and you don't know who to trust. I find it really cool how (ignoring all the promotional material) the movie doesn't straight-up tell you that Ethan Hunt is the protagonist until it's almost 30 minutes in and he's the only one left. I also loveeeee this movie's use of dutch angles - AKA, actually using them correctly LMAO. -½ star 'cause there's no Benji (I'm only half-joking.)
2. Mission: Impossible III
A breath of fresh air after MI2. I love what they did with Ethan's character here, and I love Julia. Owen Davian is my favourite MI villain of all time. The acting in this one is so good. This movie is also the introduction of Benji, so it automatically ranks higher. Also, fun fact: the music playing on this page is the MI3 version of the MI theme, written by Michael Giacchino.
3. Mission: Impossible - Fallout
Very fun having the gang back together! Julia remains the best written female character in the MI franchise. It's fun seeing Henry Cavill in a role like this; He genuinely pisses me off in this movie and I love it - He's also very hot LMAO.
4. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
Much better villain than MI4, and I like the action more. Ilsa isn't the strongest in this movie, but MI doesn't have the best track record with writing female characters anyway.
5. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Kind of boring but also pretty funny. Love that Benji is an established character from the beginning. I still don't know what actually happened in this movie LMAO.
6. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning
A worse antagonist than MI2. AI villains have literally never been compelling to me, and Gabriel is such a nothing character in my eyes. Benji and Luther feel very under-utilized in this, and I don't know why this movie acts like Grace would be as important to Ethan as Ilsa. Also, having a fake-out death for Ilsa and then actually killing her later in the movie feels so stupid to me. I didn't even notice most of the music in this one, and not in a good way. The exposition was so heavy-handed and wasn't even interesting to watch. I couldn't tell what were twists and what were things I was already supposed to know. After watching this, I'm not super excited for MI8, but I'll still see it when it comes out. Paris was one of the few good things about this movie and I'm in love with her.
7. Mission: Impossible II
Literally the most boring MI movie. I would've ranked MI7 below this one, but at least that movie isn't as painfully boring as this one. Nyah might also be the worst-written female character in any MI movie, which is really saying something. Deserves 2 stars but I bumped it to 3 'cause of how hot Ethan is in this one LMAO.
ALL MI THEMES RANKED + THOUGHTS
My personal ranking of all the MI themes with my thoughts on them.
1. Mission: Impossible - Fallout by Lorne Balfe
The most epic MI theme IMO.
2. Mission: Impossible III by Michael Giacchino
Literally so good. I love how jazzy it feels. Michael Giacchino the man that you are. Also, fun fact: the music playing on this page is this version.
3. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation by Joe Fraemer
It really feels like Joe Kraemer took the original theme and completely made it his own. So good.
4. Mission: Impossible by Danny Elfman
Absolutely classic. Really good, but kinda lacks the oomph that some of the later themes have.
5. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol by Michael Giacchino
Really good. I love how it starts off really quiet and small as if the theme itself were a ghost. There's just something about Michael Giacchino's scores that are always so good.
6. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning by Lorne Balfe
Very good theme, but kinda dissapointing 'cause of how amazing Lorne Balfe did with the MI6 theme. Even with the more low-key instrumentals, I love the addition of the drums and vocalizations. They really add a nice eerie touch to the theme.
7. Mission: Impossible II by Hanz Zimmer
I really appreciate the risk Hanz Zimmer took with this theme, and it really fits the early-2000's grunge that the movie goes for, but it doesn't fully work for me. Still really fun to listen to.
